Kiwi is a rich source of soluble dietary fiber (3.8 g per 100 g of fruit OR 10% of RDA), which makes it a good bulk laxative. It's fiber content helps protect the colon mucous membrane by decreasing exposure time to toxins as well as binding to cancer causing chemicals in the colon.

Personal: So its a good laxative, that explains my experience of eating two kiwis at once in the morning, and my CR visit was frequent. And after it, i feel so light. Being a fan of teas as laxative, now i have a more natural and healthier plus safer option, i wont be needing those teas anymore. I have kiwis already!



Some other Kiwi benefits:

  • Kiwis are rich in antioxidant Vitamin C, which help develop resistance against infections.
  • A rich source of heart healthy electrolyte called potassium, it controls heart rate and blood pressure, by countering the effects of sodium(salt).

Kiwis are available all throughout the year. But they are at its best from September until December. So what month is it now? 1st week of September, start munching some kiwis you guys! You can have it as your yogurt topping, but i appreciate it more by itself. Just plain sliced kiwi. Its only 20php at Landmark Trinoma supermarket :))
